Any tips om how I can help my little toy dachshund to overcome his fears outdoors when around people?
He is fine when there is no one outdoors or no one comes to visit me. I got him at 1 1/12 years of age; he was a kennel dog and thus not socialized other than shown at a few dog shows. He is also sensitive to sudden noises and motions. With me he is totally fine, loving and very affectionate. When I take him to a secluded area outdoors he plays catch and runs and is happy. He listens and comes when called. In other words he is a very dear pet I just would like to help him overcome his problems. I take him around people of course hoping to desensitize him, but so far no luck!
