what can you do to keep fishing line form getting tangled so you can catch some fish?
what can you do to keep fishing line form getting tangled so you can catch some fish?
I was using a lightweight “test” It is good for the fish I wish to catch, but it keeps getting tangled. Others were using similar weight line and it is working fine. They have caught some crappies, perches, and bluegills. Please help. I am tired of coming home empty handed.

Do you have an open reel or closed one like a Zebco?
Open ones tangle more easily, especially if you cast “short”

When you unravel the line from the spool and onto your reel, make sure that the line is coming off smoothly, and not unraveling will curls still in it. The easiest way to do this is to have someone loosely hold the spool so the spool will turn while you pull out the line and roll it onto your reel, making sure you do not curl it in the process.

IF you are fishing for the fish mentioned you need light line such as 4lb. to 10lb. 10 being almost to heavy a line. Just move up one size at a time until you are comfortable. What are you considering a lightweight line?
