I think my female guppie is pregnant? What should I do?
I have a five gallon tank with a male guppie, a female guppie, two mollies, an alge eater, and an alge eating catfish. I don’t think I have room for more fish. What should I do?

fish don’t get pregnant, they lay eggs. do you see any eggs in the tank?

Do not, repeat do not, perform an illegal abortion. Put the coat hanger down. That is a crime and you can get in trouble. Besides, the guppie may be too far along and it could end up being a partial birth abortion. Gross!!!

You should take it to a vet

Put her in a special “breeder tank” away from the other fish when you think she is getting closer to delivery, and make sure to feed her after the delivery. If this is her first pregnancy, there should not be too many offspring and you can probably call up a pet store and ask if they would like them/what you can do with them.
Also, research more on what is going on so you, yourself, can know!

If your guppi is pregnant, you need to isolate her if you want more guppies,if not live it alone, the female guppi and the other fishes will eat them, sorry but is true, you can use the toilet if you want

I’d try to separate her if possible, but I’ve found building a small cave works well. Most of the guppies I’ve dealt with like to stay in the cave when their babies come.
Worked in a pet store for a few years.
